Work sequence

Handover work sequence

Handover is not only a key exchange. It transfers evidence, access, maintenance responsibility and unresolved risk from the builder to the owner or operator.

Connected product pages

This sequence is connected to the stage calculator, checklist and mistake-cost pages so planning, execution and cost risk stay in one system.

Recommended sequence of work

01

Collect as-built and maintenance records

Give the operator enough information to maintain the building without destructive investigation.

  • Compile as-built drawings, hidden work photos, equipment data and warranties.
  • Create operations and maintenance sheets for each serviceable system.
  • Confirm access panels, valves, filters and isolators are labelled.

Hold point: Training and final acceptance should not start until the record pack is complete enough to operate the building.

Tools, equipment and access: Document register, QR labels, Asset schedule, As-built drawings

02

Train owner, operator and maintenance team

Make sure people can use the installed systems correctly.

  • Walk through pumps, filters, AC, ventilation, controls, drainage and shutoffs.
  • Show routine cleaning, alarms, seasonal checks and emergency isolation.
  • Record attendance and remaining questions.

Hold point: Final sign-off should not happen until system training and access demonstration are recorded.

Tools, equipment and access: Training checklist, Access keys, Control manuals, Video record if needed

03

Close defects and transfer responsibility

Separate accepted works, open defects and warranty obligations.

  • Inspect remaining punch items with photos and responsible parties.
  • Agree defect deadlines, retention rules and warranty response route.
  • Issue final handover package with version-controlled records.

Hold point: Project close-out should not be accepted until open defects and warranty responsibilities are explicitly documented.

Tools, equipment and access: Snagging app, Photo log, Defect tracker, Handover certificate
